Sharnice A. Jones, MPH

Founder & Executive Director

Sharnice is an author, entertainer and orator. Sharnice's inquisitive nature led to the founding of "Success 1st" a 501c3 non-profit organization while in high school. Miss Jones is currently the Community Connection Director at 18 Degrees Family Services for Western Massachusetts.

Carlotta is a founding member of the board of trustees. She has several years of supervisor and managerial experience supporting various industries, is a strong communicator and motivator. Carlotta donates time and talent to numerous organizations that support youth, family and community.

Vice President

Marietta is a founding member of the board of trustees. Marietta is a results-oriented IT Expert and Independent Consultant with front line, client facing, supervisory and management experience in technical standards and requirements with a unique skill set for providing support to various industries.

Carla Clements, MSN & CRNP 

Chair of Education

Carla is a founding member of Success 1st board of trustees.  Carla is PhD candidate at Univ. of Pennsylvania and has extensive clinical and administrative experience in various areas including Staff Development, Labor & Delivery, Cardiology, Geriatrics and Emergency Medicine.

Alana Swinton, Research Assistant at The Chemours Company, serves in the role of Secretary on the Success 1st board of Trustees.  Alana began volunteering with Success 1st in high school, serving as Outreach Committee Chair while in college.

Malachi Shy

Board Member

Malachi is a fourth year Accounting student at Montclair State University in the process of completing the work necessary for CPA eligibility. My primary responsibilities have always required strict adherence to established procedures and best practices, nothing excites me more than maximizing the efficiency of these procedures and making the best practices even better.

Success 1st™ seeks to ensure that youth realize the advantages of making their goals of success their primary focus. It is structured to engage youth in artistic endeavors, strategic thinking/planning and character building activities as a means to discourage at-risk behavior, such as risks resulting from teen sexual activity, violence and drug or alcohol abuse. Success 1st™ also charges youth with directing and leading. With the help of adult mentors and supporters in the community and their innate talents, develop their skills through practice and begin preparing for future success today!
